Community

I lead with the belief that building community partnerships and embracing the value of service are vital to growth and impact. My students and I engaged in the Charlotte community as hands-on learners: cleaning and caring for animals at City Dog USA Day Care; working with students with multiple disabilities at Thompson Child Development Center and local elementary schools; spending quality time with the elderly at Sunrise Living; and serving the homeless at Urban Ministries.

We also volunteered with the If I Had A Hammer project, gaining valuable skills while contributing to the building of homes. In addition, my Future Business Leaders of America team and I organized a Thanksgiving Donation Drive to provide meals for families in need, with all items donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia.

Beyond these efforts, I remain committed to ongoing community engagement through Families Helping Families Community Food Bank, community gardening projects, Homeless No More, women’s shelters, and other local initiatives. These experiences have shown me that true personal success lies in helping and serving others without expecting anything in return. I continue this commitment as an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Junior League, where service and leadership are at the heart of every effort.
